The vest: the glamorous item to have in the closet

Today, friends, I want to talk to you about a particular item: the vest.

The vest is one of the pieces that each of us should have in the closet, when I speak of vest I’m not just referring to the waistcoat that men wore under the jacket, but to all possible variations both in size and fabrics.

Don’t think of the vest as an old garment, it is more current and trendy than you can imagine, for the Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester  is the must-have of every collection: short, long, in fabric, in leather all the options are beautiful and valid .

The vest I show you today is a piece to wear all year.

Handmade by AtelierC is in silk mikado. The mikado is a precious fabric with a unique sheen and comes from a particular silk work. It is often used for wedding dresses because of its full-bodied texture and its luster, it is grainy to the touch.

The Florentine brand produces clothing in fine fabrics handmade and made to measure, in addition to the beautiful bags and objects of interior design (link)

How to combine the vest

The silk mikado vest can be combined in a thousand ways.

My proposal today is paired in a casual chic way.

The wonderful bright pink color goes very well with almost all colors, black, brown, blue

On this day in late summer I chose jeans and a white ribbed tank top, nothing easier and more practical. Now we make super feminine and chic  the jeans with the garment in precious fabric. To make the outfit even more feminine, I chose my pink décolleté with Prada hearts.

The shoes with high heels flare the figure and make even a pair of jeans flirtatious, perfect to match the color of the vest.

I couldn’t not to wear the lovely bag (named Mini Zea) in fuchsia color by AtelierC and, to complete the outfit, long pink earrings.

If you want to wear your vest even in winter you can put under a silk shirt (red, fuchsia, pink, patterned) or a tight-fitting shirt in wool or polyester under the coat. Beautiful also with a midi flared skirt and boots.

On summer evenings, over an off shoulders dress or a dress with a petticoat, as well as with a bandeau top and cigarette pants or palazzo, you can indulge yourself with patterns and colors to express your taste.
