How to create new outfits by mixing old things

Fashion over fifty Not Only Twenty

In fashion, the fundamental thing is not to buy the trendiest model, but to know how to mix clothes we have in our closet to create different outfits.

We can in fact create an infinity of look without having to spend astronomical figures.

So the rules to follow are those of buying beautiful things as soon as sales begin, choose evergreen garments, those that never go out of fashion (see the spotted coat) and, if possible, important.

From here begins the game of pairings depending on the occasions you have to wear the chosen garment, the important thing is that you don’t remain stuck with the only combination, maybe chosen in the store and always use that: it would be boring and expensive!

Dressing up while having fun

The fun part of dressing up is always creating new looks.

Today I propose another outfit for Christmas, made with things I had already, apart from the shirt. Choosing clothing to celebrate Christmas I looked for something bright in the wardrobe and I found the sequin embroidered skirt I had bought for the January 2015 sale because it was too expensive.

I had already matched the skirt (in spring) with a white t-shirt and black jacket that served to dampen the sheen of the embroidery.

In this case, however, I want to enhance it to have something brilliant. The sequin embroidery is silver, gold and burnished, of these three colors I chose  silver to give more light to my face by combining a soft shirt in pearl-gray low-cut. To complete the outfit I wore over my velvet duster bought by Zara (you have already seen it here).

As accessories I chose long beaded earrings that fit well to the neckline of the shirt and tight ankle boots, if it’s too much for you to mix them with an elegant outfit, wear black sandals. Black minimalist clutch bag.

How do you think? Would you wear it?
