Winter trend 2017: feathers

style at 50 Not only twenty

One of the strongest trends of winter 2017 are feathers, which had already peeped out in Spring / Summer 2016 catwalks.

Feathers have been the protagonists of the Autumn fashion shows: from Balenciaga to Jeremy Scott, from Prada to Alexander McQueen, from Max Mara to Calvin Klein, all fashion designers have made their outfits light and ironic, offering dresses with feather or feather jackets or edges of coats or duvets or dust coat covered with feathers; as well as all kind of accessories: handbags, hats, earrings and shoes.

Always relegated to cocktail dresses, feathers are also proposed and accepted in daywear. Zara used them even in sportswear to decorate their sleeves.

With their movement they give a rude look and vaguely retrò to every outfit.

How to choose the plumage

Whether you choose a feathered garment or an accessory, the only thing you need to be careful about, especially if worn by day, is not to dare more than one piece at a time.

I chose a purple silk dress with gray feathers, ideal for evening with  high heels shoes to be worn with black socks or without.

My proposal for the day is a very feminine outfit, but with a strong footprint. I then paired it up like a shirt with black skinny pants, a zipper decollete, studded bag and sunglasses with a big frame to create a strong look, the only super female accessory is Chanel pearls necklace. Above the black hood.
