The charge of the over fifty models

models over forty Not Only Twenty

When I decided to start my blog, one of the reasons was to say that we women over forty, over fifty, over sixty, etc. we exist. The magazines were, and partly are still, full of very young models, as if maturity was something to hide.

We women still want to feel beautiful and to play with fashion: it is precisely the maturity that makes us very confident about ourselves, we know what we are and what we want.

Over the last two years, things are changing, and the beauty of the mature age is accepted: I speak so much about Not Only Twenty, but not only. There are also other blogs, such as Advanced Style, dealing with mature women‘s street style.

Be beautiful and desirable at 50 years

The British model agency  Grey Models did not imagine being subjected to requests from fashion brands.

The founder Rebecca Valentine was sure to attract insurance agencies or services for the elderly, but her models were highly appreciated at London Fashion Week.

The Americans Carmen dell’ Orefice and Laureen Hutton and the Italian Benedetta Barzini are just a few examples of how mature women can interpret fashion with fascination and irony.

The world of beauty is still back

While the fashion world has noticed the economic potential of mature women, the world of beauty is still far behind, it is not uncommon for mature skin products to be advertised by women who could be quietly our daughters and who have not absolutely needed that kind of cosmetics.

Often, we women have the feeling that cosmetics companies are having fun of us: we do not want to be younger. We just want to feel good.

Beauty companies do not you think it’s time to update?
